Sports and recreation camp "Burevestnik" of Elabuga Institute of Kazan Federal University is located in a picturesque place on the territory of the national park "Lower Kama", on the lake “Podbornoe”.
It occupies the area of 3.2 hectares. The camp with the capacity of 100 people was built in 1963.
In 2012-2013, major repairs of the camp were carried out, new furniture was bought, a dining room was renovated, sports equipment was topped off, and modern ski sets were acquired for recreation in winter. The sports camp "Burevestnik" is now a center for the implementation of various programs, trainings, profile recreation terms, “rope” courses, and other recreational activities.
In 2013 4 profile terms of recreation for students were organized according to the Program of summer holiday, rehabilitation and employment of children and youth of the Republic of Tatarstan with the funding for meals in the amount of 537,600 rubles. 2014 saw 7 profile recreation terms for students according to the Program with the funding for meals in the amount of 987, 000 rubles, as well as the summer physical-mathematical school for gifted children” with the financing of 497,790 rubles.
The total number of persons who rested in the camp and received additional advanced knowledge in various areas in 2014 is 750, including 700 students and 50 pupils of secondary schools of the Republic of Tatarstan.
