Department of  Pedagogy was established on July 18, 2002. It conducts the bachelor degree program in the academic field "Psycho-pedagogical education" with profiles “Psychology and Social Pedagogy” and “Psychology and Pedagogy of Work with the Youth Organization”  (full-time and part-time forms are available) and the bachelor degree program in the academic field "Teacher education" with profile “Extended Education and the English Language”, as well as master degree program in the academic field Psycho-pedagogical education"  with profile “Psychology and Social Pedagogy”.

Head of the Department is the Honored Worker of Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation, the doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor Valeeva Roza Alekseevna.

The main directions of the department of general and social pedagogy activities

• scientific analysis of the current state of social education and supplementary education for children;
• research, analysis, synthesis, dissemination and adoption of best practices and innovative social education and supplementary education for children in Russia and abroad;
• development of theoretical principles, concepts, propositions as fundamental bases for the national program of up-bringing and supplementary education for children, public education standards, national educational policy and doctrine;
• the development of modern theoretical and methodological tool, and the socio-pedagogical development of education and supplementary education for children, and on this basis, identification of key trends and scenarios for the development of education and supplementary education for children in Russia;
• scientific and methodological support of educational systems in the type and species diversity;
• scientific and methodological provision of vocational education in the field of education and supplementary education for children through the creation of educational and instructional materials of new generation;
• development of evidence-based proposals and recommendations to the federal and regional education authorities to establish social policy in the field of education and further education of children and management decisions in this area;
• development of innovative methods and technology in various aspects of social education and supplementary education for children;
• preparation of highly qualified scientific personnel in the field of social education and supplementary education for children;
• conduct course training, advisory services at the request of the practice on a contractual basis.
