Kazan Federal University Naberezhnye Chelny Institute cooperates with leading foreign universities, research organizations and companies from Italy, Austria, Poland, China, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and other countries. The cooperation includes double degree programs, mutual exchange of students and faculty, joint research, exchange programs and publications.

The Institute now employs foreign experts from the United States, China, and Kazakhstan. In 2014 nine teachers from Italy, Germany, Austria, and the United States participated in scientific events and gave lectures at the Institute.

Scientific and educational projects financed from foreign sources or in partnership with foreign researchers are being carried out at the Institute. Professors and students of the Institute participate in the programs of academic mobility, such as the internships at universities in Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, as well as participation in international conferences, seminars and competitions.

The Institute operates the international Ford-Sollers scientific-educational laboratory created in cooperation with Ford Motor company. In 2014 Kazan Federal University Naberezhnye Chelny Institute became a member of CDIO Worldwide Initiative – the global project to reform engineering education and to bridge the gap between theory and practice in engineering training.

Naberezhnye Chelny Institute is a subdivision of KFU and conducts international activities within the strategy and tactics of such activities, supervised by Vice-Rector for Foreign Relations Linar Latypov and the International Office of KFU.
