Department of psychology was established in Kazan Pedagogical University in 1974. Head of the department was Associate Professor V. A. Prosecky.
Currently, the Department members continue to solve problems of student's personality formation in pedagogical institution, placing emphasis on solution of such problems as psychological correction of formation of personal qualities of future teachers and disclosure of psychological mechanisms of student’s readiness to professional activity.
Mission of the Department includes psychological training of teachers implying the development of humanistic orientation, professional identity and professionally significant qualities of a person.
