The Department is a part of the Faculty of History and Law since 2014.

The Department's main objectives are:

1. Development of research and methodological work of the staff on the problems of higher education and training
2. Implementation of new concepts and methods in learning of basic academic subjects.
3. Providing methodological support for legal education at the Institute.
4. Helping graduates increase their competitiveness in the labor market.
5. Complex introduction of innovational an information technologies into education, research, and administration.
6. Providing the students with civil, moral, aesthetic and humanistic education in the course of their professional training.
7. Staff community outreach, public lectures and publications in popular media.

The Department supervises the Legal and Socio-Pedagogical Aspects of Juvenile Delinquency Lab.

The current areas of our focus in work are:

• Research activity including the organization of conferences, business meetings, briefings, round-table talks devoted to the prevention of children's homelessness and juvenile delinquency, including the annual conference “ Legal and socio-pedagogical aspects of preventing juvenile delinquency and youth crime”;
• Educational activity, including activities as a member of the Educational and Research Laboratory working on crime prevention among youth;
• Methodological activities, including training sessions for government employees dealing with youth policy;
• Community outreach, including the establishment of cooperation with population, public associations, mass media.
