Kazan International Linguistic Centre operates on the basis of Leo Tolstoy Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of Kazan Federal University. The Linguistic Center sees its mission in the expansion of language, literature and culture by introducing modern and most effective methods of teaching and learning. Every year we offer over 30 programs and more than 800 people take our courses and receive KFU diplomas and certificates of completion. Our instructors are innovative and experienced KFU professors who work with newest textbooks and employ Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) and other approaches that enable our students to develop strong communication skills, enrich vocabulary, improve grammar, learn and love literature and culture.

The Linguistic Center offers a wide range of programs including:

• second degree programs in English, Russian as a Foreign language that grant a KFU diploma;
• short-term and long-term language courses for those wishing to start or continue learning English, German, French, Spanish, Tatar, Turkish, Chinese and Czech;
• programs for foreign citizens who would like to learn Russian in a year long, semester or short-term programs (see the details here);
• short-term crash courses for schoolchildren preparing to participate in school Olympiads (Russian language and literature, Tatar language and literature, foreign language and literature) and to pass the Unified State Exam (ЕГЭ);
• courses for prospective students entering our university;
• professional development courses for teachers, university instructors, state and commercial organizations in languages, literature, and education.

Kazan International Linguistic Centre also offers International Certification in English:

• TOEFL;
• Test of Russian as a Foreign Language (ТРКИ);
• Comprehensive Exam in Russian Language, Russian History and the Basics of the Legislation of the Russian Federation​

KILC also provides a range of programs that aims at preserving and promoting Tatar language and culture. Our faculty assisted the Tatarstan Ministry of Education and Science to develop a nine-level distance learning program Ana Tele. Currently our instructors carry out live online courses to Tatar learners all around the world.

The Center also may design language courses that include sightseeing tours in Kazan and the Republic of Tatarstan.
