Development of generalized model of arbitrary types of fractal antennas

Relevance

Nowadays fractal antennas are one of the most promising types of antenna systems due to their compact size and extremely interesting broadband and multiband properties

Practical value

Fractal antennas are patch objects, which geometric shape is determined by the  type of fractal used during development. Self-similarity of the structure and scaling effects of fractal structures allow to provide the unique omnidirectional characteristics within a wide frequency range compared to standard types of antennas. At the same time the linear dimensions of antennas become smaller (5-10 times), which is critical for LF and VHF band.

Scientific novelty

This R&D work proposes the creation of a generalized mathematical and algorithmic model that describes the most common type of construction of fractals that is fractal sets, arbitrary attractors of iterated function systems. According to this model standardized procedures for solving antenna analysis and antenna synthesis problems for a general class of patch fractal antennas and antenna arrays will be developed.
